Rockcastle County FFA President Anna Chaliff was announced today, August 9, as a national finalist in the Nursery Operations proficiency. Anna is only the third person from Rockcastle County to be named in any proficiency area. She will interview virtually this fall and be recognized on stage October 25 at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
Students recognized in the Nursery Operations area must be FFA members who own an enterprise or work for a business that "provides experience in growing, marketing, and selling ornamental plants, vegetable starter plants, shrubs and/or tree production for the purpose of transplanting or propagation. " Their skills and career-based competencies have developed through years of work.
